Start the morning at the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you’ll visit the Mausoleum (subject to opening hours), the Presidential Palace, Uncle Ho’s Stilt House, and the iconic One Pillar Pagoda. Continue to Huu Tiep Lake to see the remains of a downed B-52 aircraft before heading to the Museum of Ethnology, which showcases the traditions of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.
Lunch will be a steaming bowl of Pho, Vietnam’s beloved noodle soup, while your guide shares insights into Vietnamese dining culture.
In the afternoon, explore the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, and learn about Confucian traditions. Then stop at Hoa Lo Prison, known as the “Hanoi Hilton,” before visiting Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, a spiritual heart of the city.
In the evening, begin your street food walking tour in the Old Quarter. Stroll past local markets and narrow alleys as you sample favorites like Banh Cuon, Banh Mi, Bun Cha, Che, and Hanoi’s signature egg coffee. Along the way, your guide will share stories of Hanoi’s food heritage and daily life.
After breakfast, drive through the scenic Red River Delta to Halong Bay. Upon boarding your cruise, settle in with a seafood lunch while sailing past limestone karsts and emerald waters.
In the afternoon, explore the dramatic Sung Sot (Surprise) Cave before climbing Titop Island for sweeping views of the bay at sunset. Return to the boat for a freshly prepared dinner and an overnight stay on board.
Rise early to join a Tai Chi session on the deck, a calming way to start the day. As the boat sails back to shore, enjoy a light brunch while watching the morning scenery glide by.
Disembark and transfer back to Hanoi airport for your flight south to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. The evening is free to explore at leisure.
Depart Ho Chi Minh City for a day trip into the Mekong Delta. Board a private boat and navigate through quiet canals lined with coconut trees. Visit small family workshops producing local goods and take a ride by motor-cart into a peaceful village.
Enjoy a rustic lunch of regional specialties before cruising back along the waterways. Return to Ho Chi Minh City by late afternoon.
This morning, explore the city’s main landmarks: the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Central Post Office. Walk along Dong Khoi Street past the Opera House before pausing for lunch at Pho 2000, where President Bill Clinton once dined.
In the afternoon, travel outside the city to the historic Cu Chi Tunnels. Learn about the vast underground network that sheltered Vietnamese fighters during wartime and even try crawling through a section of tunnel. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the evening.
Enjoy breakfast and free time until your private driver takes you to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for your flight home or onward journey.
