Xin Chao! On arrival at Noi Bai Airport, your private guide and driver will meet you and escort you to your hotel in the Old Quarter. After check–in, relax and adjust to the city’s rhythm before meeting your guide for a short tour briefing. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner.
Spend the day exploring Hanoi’s landmarks and hidden gems. Begin at the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you’ll see the Mausoleum, Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House, and the One Pillar Pagoda. Continue on foot through quiet laneways to Huu Tiep Lake and the site of a downed B52 bomber, a reminder of the city’s wartime past.
Next, visit the Museum of Ethnology, where displays showcase the traditions of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. For lunch, enjoy a steaming bowl of pho at a local noodle shop, a dish as iconic in Vietnam as fast food is in the West.
This afternoon, explore the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, and Hoa Lo Prison, known as the “Hanoi Hilton” during the Vietnam War. Ride a cyclo through the French Quarter, passing elegant villas, the Opera House, and the historic Metropole Hotel. Pause for a cup of creamy egg coffee overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake.
In the evening, dive into Hanoi’s street food culture with your guide. Walk through the bustling Old Quarter, sampling authentic dishes and discovering hidden eateries loved by locals.
Leave the capital behind and drive through the Red River Delta to Halong Bay, where you’ll board your overnight junk boat. Enjoy a welcome drink and a freshly prepared seafood lunch as you sail among limestone islands rising dramatically from the emerald waters.
In the afternoon, relax on the sundeck, swim in the bay, or visit the vast Sung Sot Cave with its glittering stalactites. Continue your cruise past floating villages and hidden lagoons. As evening falls, watch the sunset with a drink in hand, or join a cooking demonstration led by the ship’s chef before a delicious dinner is served.
Afterwards, unwind on deck under the stars, try your hand at squid fishing, or simply enjoy the stillness of the bay.
Begin the day with a Tai Chi session on deck, a tranquil way to embrace the morning. You may also swim at a quiet beach or paddle a kayak through the caves and grottoes. After brunch on board, cruise back to the harbor and disembark.
Return to Hanoi in the afternoon. The rest of your day is free for relaxation, shopping, or perhaps an evening water puppet performance, a traditional art form unique to northern Vietnam.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before your driver transfers you to the airport for your onward flight or journey.
